Blanco Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

Blanco paver driveway installation in Los Angeles typically runs $8,260 to $21,240 installed, and we stock Blanco-compatible pavers and edging for most current and legacy lines. Most homeowners discover a failing paver section the annoying way: a paver that’s sunk half an inch below its neighbors after last winter’s rain, or an edge course that’s started drifting into the lawn. You’ll usually see it before you feel it, but once water pools where it used to sheet off, the base underneath is already moving.

We’re an independent Los Angeles contractor, not affiliated with Blanco, but we work with their paver and driveway product lines regularly. Our trucks carry the common repair parts: replacement pavers, edge restraints, and the clean angular aggregate we use to re-set a settled section. If you’re calling about a Blanco driveway that’s not draining right or a paver patio that’s suddenly uneven, we can usually diagnose it in one visit and give you a written price before any work starts.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s driveway and paver lineup covers three main families: the Blanco Stone Collection (concrete pavers in tumbled and smooth finishes), the Blanco Permeable Series (designed for LA’s stormwater requirements), and the Blanco Slab System (large-format pavers, typically 24″ x 24″ or larger). Each family uses a slightly different joint width and base spec, so matching the right paver matters more than most homeowners expect. A Stone Collection paver is 60mm thick; a Slab System piece is 80mm. Swap them and you’ll feel the lip every time you walk across it.

To identify your exact Blanco paver, flip one over. The underside usually has a molded code near one corner, something like “BC-6040” or “BP-4824.” That code tells us the series, the size, and sometimes the production run. If the code is worn off, measure the paver’s length, width, and thickness to the millimeter and we can narrow it from there. For OEM versus aftermarket: Blanco’s color blends are proprietary, and aftermarket “universal” replacements rarely match after two summers of LA sun. We recommend OEM for visible areas and only use aftermarket when a line is discontinued and the homeowner approves the color difference in writing.

Signs Your Blanco Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

  • Water pooling in low spots that used to drain. This almost always means the base layer (the compacted aggregate under the pavers) has eroded or settled. In Los Angeles, heavy rain after long dry spells is the usual trigger. The pavers themselves are rarely the problem; the ground under them is.
  • Edge pavers sliding outward or tilting. The plastic or aluminum edge restraint has failed or was never installed correctly. Blanco edge restraints in LA heat can get brittle after 8 to 10 years, especially on south-facing exposures. Once the edge lets go, the whole field starts creeping.
  • Individual pavers rocking underfoot. This means the sand joint underneath that specific paver has been washed out or there’s a void in the base directly below it. You’ll notice it most near downspouts or anywhere gutter water dumps onto the paver surface.
  • Wide, growing gaps between pavers. Blanco’s standard joint is about 1/8″ for the Stone Collection and slightly narrower for the Slab System. If you can fit a finger in the gap, the sand joint has washed out and the pavers are shifting. Left alone, they’ll start rotating and chipping at the corners.
  • Sunken areas near tree roots or old trench lines. Roots lift or compress the base differently than the surrounding soil, and old utility trenches settle over time. In Los Angeles, mature ficus and liquid amber trees are the usual suspects. This one’s structural, not cosmetic, and patching a single paver won’t fix it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Blanco paver driveway work in Los Angeles, full paver driveway installation runs $8,260 to $21,240 depending on square footage, access, and how much of the old base can be salvaged. A targeted repair, like re-setting a settled section or replacing a dozen cracked pavers, usually lands in the $700 to $2,800 range. Paver patio installation runs $4,130 to $12,980, and driveway replacement (removing old pavers and installing new) runs $5,900 to $16,520.

What drives the number up or down: how much existing base material is still sound, whether we need to haul off old concrete or asphalt underneath, the Blanco series you’re matching, and whether LA’s stormwater rules require permeable pavers for your project. Every quote we give includes the pavers, the base work, haul-away, and a written guarantee. You get the price in writing before we dig, and the number on the invoice matches the number on the quote. If something fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s our 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s printed on every contract.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: flip a paver and look for the molded code, mark any low spots with chalk after rain, and check whether your downspouts are dumping water directly onto the paver surface. Those observations help us quote faster and more accurately. Where DIY goes wrong is when homeowners pull up sunken pavers, add a bag of sand underneath, and think that’s a fix. Without re-compacting the base with the right aggregate, that paver will sink again within months, usually worse than before. And if you’re dealing with a long sunken line near a wall or foundation, digging into that without knowing what’s underneath is asking for trouble.

For anything beyond identifying the paver and keeping water off it, call us at (936) 259-2607. We’ll come out, look at the whole area, and hand you a written price before any work starts. As Trevor Nash puts it: give me the whole picture first, then we pick up the tools.
