Delta Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you own a Delta kitchen faucet, sink, or accessory and the finish is failing, the sprayer drips, or the cartridge won’t hold temperature, we stock the Delta parts to fix it – and we can quote the repair over the phone before we ever roll a truck. Most Delta kitchen component replacements in Los Angeles run $280 – $1,100 installed, depending on whether it’s a cartridge swap, a sprayer head replacement, or a full faucet replacement with new supply lines. You usually know something’s wrong the first time the handle gets stiff, the flow drops to a trickle in the middle of dinner prep, or you find a slow puddle under the sink cabinet that wasn’t there last week.
We’re Penhallow Remodeling, and we’ve been handling kitchen work across Los Angeles long enough to know that a Delta faucet is usually the most-used fixture in the house – and the first one to show its age. Trevor Nash started this company because too many LA homeowners were getting vague answers about what a repair would cost and when it would actually happen. We do it differently: written price, real arrival window, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on the work. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Delta, but we install and service their parts every week.
Which Delta Models This Applies To
Delta’s kitchen lineup is broad, and the part you need depends on which series is stamped on the faucet body. The big ones we see across Los Angeles kitchens:
- Leland, Cassidy, and Trinsic – these share the same Diamond Seal cartridge in most single-handle pull-down models, but the sprayer heads and hose quick-connects differ by finish and generation.
- Pivotal and Essa – the side-spray and pull-down versions use different diverter internals, so a part that fits one won’t necessarily fit the other even if the handles look identical.
- Champagne Bronze and Matte Black finishes – the physical parts are the same as chrome, but the finish-matched sprayer heads and handle kits are what make the repair look right. Mixing finishes saves a few dollars and looks wrong for years.
The compatibility gotcha in Southern California: hard water deposits from LA’s municipal supply build up on cartridge seals faster than they do in softer-water cities, and a cartridge that’s scaled past a certain point won’t seat correctly even if it’s the right model number. That’s why we carry a small descaler kit on the truck and check the valve body interior before installing the new cartridge. The model number is printed on a small tag on the supply line under the sink, or stamped on the faucet body behind the spout. Snap a photo and call us – we’ll tell you exactly which Delta part it takes and whether OEM makes sense or a quality aftermarket equivalent will hold up just as well. For most cartridges and sprayers, OEM Delta is worth the premium because the tolerances match perfectly. For simple things like supply lines and mounting hardware, good aftermarket parts are indistinguishable in daily use.
Signs Your Delta Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- The handle gets progressively stiffer to move. Mineral scale is building around the cartridge. In Los Angeles, where water hardness runs moderate to high depending on the neighborhood, this shows up sooner than Delta’s published lifespan suggests.
- Water drips from the spout long after you shut it off. The cartridge’s ceramic discs have worn or a piece of debris is wedged in the seal. It’s a slow leak until it isn’t – then you’re paying for water you didn’t use.
- The pull-down sprayer won’t retract or dribbles in spray mode. The hose weight slipped, the diverter inside the sprayer head is failing, or the quick-connect under the sink has loosened. Sometimes the fix is a $12 weight. Sometimes it’s a new sprayer head.
- Low flow only at the kitchen sink, nowhere else in the house. The aerator is clogged with sediment, or the supply line screen is packed with scale. We clean or replace these on nearly every service call in older LA neighborhoods with aging supply pipes.
- Water collecting inside the cabinet base, but the sink basket and drain are dry. A supply line connection or the faucet base O-ring has failed. Left alone, this rots the cabinet floor and invites mold – and that turns a $300 faucet repair into a cabinet rebuild.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included
For Los Angeles kitchens, here’s what we quote over the phone, in writing, before we arrive:
- Delta cartridge replacement: $280 – $425 installed, including the OEM or equivalent cartridge and descaling the valve body.
- Sprayer head and hose replacement: $190 – $340 for pull-down or side-spray models, finish-matched to your existing faucet.
- Full Delta faucet replacement: $680 – $1,100 including the faucet, new braided supply lines, removal and haul-away of the old unit, and a leak test.
- Complete kitchen remodel incorporating Delta fixtures: $16,520 – $53,100 depending on layout changes, cabinet line, and countertop material.
The range exists because a cartridge swap in a 2018 Leland is a thirty-minute job, while a full faucet replacement in an older Los Angeles home often means working around corroded shutoff valves that need replacement too. We tell you that before the work starts – never after. Every job gets a written price, a real arrival window, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. The Delta parts themselves also carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which runs in parallel with ours.
DIY or Call Us?
A slow drip you can live with for a week is one thing. A faucet that’s actively leaking into the cabinet is something else. Replacing a Delta cartridge is genuinely DIY-able if you have the right puller tool and shutoffs that actually close all the way – and that’s the problem in a lot of older Los Angeles homes. Angle stops that haven’t been turned in fifteen years often won’t shut off completely, or they start leaking the moment you move them. Before you open the faucet, turn off both angle stops and check for drips. If water still flows or the valve stem feels gritty, stop there – you’re now looking at a plumbing repair under pressure, and that’s exactly the kind of job where a small mistake floods the kitchen. No shame in calling it in. That’s what we’re here for. Call us at (936) 259-2607 and describe what you’re seeing. If it’s safe to walk you through a quick check over the phone, we will. If it needs a truck, we’ll give you the price before you hang up.
FAQs
A well-maintained Delta kitchen faucet in Los Angeles typically lasts 8 – 15 years, but the hard water in many neighborhoods shortens cartridge life to 5 – 7 years between service intervals. The finish usually holds up longer than the internals. Call (936) 259-2607 and we’ll tell you whether your faucet is worth repairing or replacing based on its age and condition.
No – Delta’s Diamond Seal cartridges are sealed units and can’t be rebuilt. Once the ceramic discs wear or the seals harden from scale, the whole cartridge gets swapped out. The good news is the swap is fast and we carry common Delta cartridges on the truck, so it’s often a one-visit fix in the Los Angeles area.
Most Delta cartridge, sprayer, or full faucet replacements take 45 minutes to 2 hours on site, assuming the shutoff valves work and no hidden corrosion is waiting under the sink. We give you a written arrival window before we come, and we leave the cabinet cleaner than we found it.
We stock common Delta cartridges, sprayer heads, hoses, and mounting hardware on the truck, and we can source finish-matched or less common parts from our local Los Angeles suppliers for a next-day install in most cases. You don’t need to hunt down the part yourself – just call us with your faucet’s model number and we’ll handle it from there. We also stock parts and hardware compatible with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for the surrounding kitchen remodel work we do.
